CVS Shopping Today

I did my CVS survey panel this morning and took my $10 ECB along with two others I had and headed out to CVS. The ECB I earned this morning for being on the CVS Advisory Panel expired today so I had no choice but to go CVSing.

While I didn't do as good as I would have liked due to a difference in rules that I wasn't aware of, I still did pretty good overall. I had 3 $10 ECBs to spend...

6 Bottles of Pantene Shampoo @ $3.49 = $20.94 + 6% Tax $.66 = $21.60
(3) $1/2 Pantene Coupons
(1) $4/20 Coupon from Christmas Magazine (this was the bummer item)
(1) $10 ECB
Total Out of Pocket = $8.60 + $4 ECB
The $4 off $20 in the CVS Christmas Magazine gives you a $4 ECB instead of taking $4 off of your total. Boo Hiss. However, it did give me the $4 ECB so I took it anyway and just applied it to the next order.


Percentage Savings = 61% Not what I would have liked at all, but it's still better than 50% off so I'll take it. It gets better.

1 Bag of Kisses Holiday - $5.49
$13.96 + $5.49 + $.57 Tax = $20.02

Percentage Savings = 85% Much Better


Transaction No. 3 (Still one $10 ECB left)
1 Charmin Ultra 16 Ct. - $9.99 + $.60 tax - $10.59
(1) $10 ECB (they priced it down to $9.99 - you still have to pay the tax)
Total Out of Pocket = $.60
Percentage Savings = 95% Sweet

So, using the numbers off the receipts, and counting the fact I purchased the products on sale, I purchased.

1 16 ct Tissue Paper
5 Bags Candy
6 Bottles of Shampoo
Total of Product before Sales & Coupons = $62.21
Total Out of Pocket $12.22
Total Savings Per Receipts - $49.99
Percentage Savings - 81%

I was able to purchase two of the items (shampoo and tissue paper) I needed to stock up on so I am a happy camper.
