Wal-Mart Freebies

This morning I posted to you about the Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets at Wal-Mart and how you can get them free or close to free depending on how your local Wal-Mart handles the coupons.

I stopped by Wal-Mart in Ft. Wright, KY this morning on my way to work because I had two more of the Snuggle Coupons (the ones from E-Bay haven't arrived yet) and I had some Johnson & Johnson $1/1 coupons and I was looking for Buddy Soaps. I purchased 12 Buddy Soaps and 2 of the Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets. For the first time in my life, Wal-Mart tried to pay me. You can see for yourself on the receipt.

The cashier took the actual price of the coupons off of the total versus pricing down to the cost of the product. Example...the Buddy Soaps are $.97 and the Snuggle was $1.87. She took the Johnson & Johnson coupons off for $1 and the Snuggle coupons off for $2. I was charged $.92 tax and they still came up with a credit of $1.70. Knowing that technically I should have to pay at least the tax I explained that she should have priced down the items. She went to get the Manager. The Manager came over and said nope, you are good to go and we owe you $1.70. Did I take it....Nope. I respectfully declined but asked for my receipt but the only way to get the receipt was to put in that they gave me the money. Honestly, it just didn't feel right to take the money. It's only $1.70 right....it's also coupon ethics. The way I look at it is that if I do my coupons correctly, I get them for pretty cheap anyway. There are plenty of people out there who try to use fake coupons, etc. I don't want to be in that category. Getting the product free was good enough for me. So I respectfully declined, but I got my receipt. My husband was amazed and wanted to take the receipt to his work to show people it can truly be done.

My purpose in telling you this is not to put myself up on a stool or be braggy, etc. Each person handles their transactions their way. My point is to show you with the receipt, that if you continue to coupon and pay attention to the deals, you can get the products you need for free or darn close to it. Sorry the receipt picture isn't that great, but I took a picture several times and this was the best I could do.
Just a note about the Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets - they are the 40 ct boxes. Personally, I cut the sheets in half. One half sheet works just as good as a whole. So I get 80 sheets out of a box. I had two, purchased two today and have coupons for 20 more coming. That's 1,920 loads. I do 6 loads so I will use 312 sheets in a year. After my coupons come in and I get those boxes picked up, I will have enough dryer sheets to last me six years. All for FREE
Works for me.
