Lessons Learned As A Bridesmaid

Lessons Learned as a Bridesmaid
What Every Single Woman Should Know Before Becoming a Bridesmaid
By Larissa Dayana Jean Published by Westbow Press

A Review by De Anna G.

Lessons Learned as a Bridesmaid is a must read book that every mother should pass to her daughter. Larissa Dayana Jean shares her journey down the winding road of seeing her friends marry off one by one and wondering when her turn will come to pass.

Larissa opens up about the challenges single women face today from not only their closest friends and confidants but also their own family’s time honored traditions and beliefs. You will chuckle over her memories of dresses worn in the past and turn the page to find you want to reach out and hug her as she details the pain and struggles of previous relationships gone south. Through her trials and tribulations she stands strong on the base of her faith, God.

Larissa shares, through biblical examples, how by standing on one’s faith in God and accepting God’s timing over our own, you set yourself up to be the perfect wife for the perfect mate God ultimately chooses for you.

One of the hardest lessons in life is accepting God’s timing over our own. When we don’t get what we want, in this case a husband, we began to fall into the traps and temptations the world has set up for us. Larissa helps her readers to tap into their own feelings by asking direct heart felt questions at the end of each chapter, thus allowing the reader to face themselves and decide if they are walking down that same winding path. She offers encouragement via verses and personal experience to show that by following God’s plan we receive the true value of our worth in God’s way, in God’s time.

This book is a easy joyful read and a book that every mother should give to her adolescent daughter to read before they start facing the worldly challenges of whom she should marry, how she should marry and when she should marry.
