Target Coupons....Or are they???

I'm sure you know by know that there are Target coupons out there for grocery and household items that you use with Target along with a manufacturer coupon. Often times you can get incredible deals when you do this. A couple of weeks ago I cashed in on a bunch of dog treats for the pooches. They were on sale at Target for $2.50/ea. and I had a $1.50/1 coupon plus Target had a $1/2 coupon which left me paying $.50/ea. for the treats. Yes I stocked up on them, but with the mighty midget and the beast, they don't last long.

Normally, I go to Organic Grocery Deals to get my coupons from their Target Coupon Generator. About a week ago I was visiting the Target site and put coupon into the search engine to see if I would get the same coupons. I got a completely different list of coupons. I printed a couple out and saw the familiar Target logo on them so I assumed they could only be used at Target. I put them in my coupon binder and that was that. When I was at Krogers on Monday, I was getting a couple of things and when I went to pull out the coupons I pulled out a Target coupon I had printed by accident. I didn't realize it was one of the Target coupons at the time because of the way I had it folded. I handed everything over to the cashier and of course when she was deducting the coupons she noticed it. She stopped for a second and looked at a coupon and told me to hang on and went to the Customer Service Desk. Of course I had no idea what was going on. When she came back I asked her if there was a problem or if I had accidentally given her an expired coupon. She said no that she just wanted to make certain she could use the coupon and flipped it around and I saw the Target logo. Well of course I immediately apologized and was reaching to take it back while trying to explain I had grabbed the wrong one. She just looked at me and said "Sweetie this coupon is good here. It's just a manufacturer's coupon.". Needless to say I was stunned.

Now, you know me, always wanting or trying to do things right, I called the Customer Service department and they said that the coupons were manufacturer coupons. I was thrilled. The reason, quite honestly some of the coupons I have seen on the site are better than the ones that have come out in the flyers.

So, if you get a chance, go to Target.com and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Look for Target Stores and coupons are the third item down. There are several pages of coupons to choose from.

  1. I was able to use the $5 off 4 Kellogg's cereal coupon with the target logo at CVS! It clearly says "manufacturer coupon" at the top and it scanned just fine!
